Among the many surprise announcements made at Sony’s E3 keynote was news of a 3D TV monitor and glasses designed to make 3D gaming more accessible to mainstream gamers. Arriving in bundle form this fall, the package will retail for $499 and come with the 24- inch 3D television, PlayStation-branded 3D glasses, a six-foot HDMI cable, and a copy of Resistance 3.

Interestingly, The 3D display will boast an innovative design that does away with split-screen gaming and allows two players to see two different screens when looking at the device if they are wearing 3D glasses. By splitting the 3D signal and only showing what one eye would normally see to one set of glasses. Additionally, the 3D Glasses will retail separately for $69.99 and include a rechargeable lithium ion battery to enable quick charging time. A three-minute charge will result in three hours of use, while a 45 minute charge will provide 30 hours of use.
The Sony 3D Display bundle will be available this Fall.
